Linkage of Business Processes to Valuation Variants

Scope of Functions

In earlier releases, planning and allocation of processes was based on the planned price of the current period. In Release 4.6A, planning and allocation of processes is based on the price selected in accordance with the valuation strategy specified in the valuation variant.

The same valuation strategy is used for the valuation of cost centers/activity types and of processes.

A requirement for the use of the valuation strategy is that the object for which the process costs are calculated has a costing variant.

Example:

The standard cost for the material is calculated with reference to a costing variant. The valuation strategy for processes is taken into account.

Both preliminary costing and simultaneous costing for the product cost collector are based on a costing variant. The valuation strategy for processes is taken into account.

Production orders without a quantity structure (CO production orders) have no costing variant for simultaneous costing. In this case, activity types and business processes are always valuated with the planned activity price.
