Interface for ATA SPEC 2000 and AECMA SPEC 2000M

Description

In order to make spares procurement in the Aerospace & Defense industry as effective, cost-saving and error-free as possible, international specifications for communication between the customer and vendor have been established in both the commercial and defense fields. These are

  • Specification SPEC 2000 of the ATA in the commercial field
  • Specification SPEC 2000M of AECMA in the defense field.

For the total logistis chain of procurement, sales and distribution, and billing of spares, both specifications describe

  • the communication flow between business partners,
  • the content of information to be exchanged and
  • the structure and format of the messages exchanged in every step of the process.

In the R/3 System, the business functions demanded in the specifications are mapped in the MM (Materials Management) component for processes on the part of the customer and in the SD (Sales & Distribution) component for processes on the part of the vendor. The functions of message control, IDoc Interface and SAP Business Workflow are used in an enhanced manner. This makes the communication between the participating business partners and the flow on the side of both the customer and the vendor as automatic as possible.

Installation information

To convert the business data between the R/3 specific IDoc format and the message format of the respective specifications, functions are used from the AMOSS 2000 system from the company Syseca Gesellschaft für Unternehmensberatung mbH.
