MRP of Fully Interchangeable Parts

Scope of Functions

In MRP the system takes account of the interchangeability of inventory-managed manufacturer parts. The interchangeable parts can and should be planned jointly, and are grouped in MPN-MRP sets.

Up to Release 3.0B, each FFF class part could only belong to one MPN-MRP set in a plant.

From Release 4.6, MRP areas are also taken into account. This means that a part in a FFF class can now belong to several MPN-MRP sets if these MPN-MRP sets belong to different MRP areas.
