New ID Options (New)

Use

As of SAP AII 4.0the following new features are supported for encoding and decoding IDs on tags:

• EPC Version 1.30 is supported

• Additional EPC IDs are available:

• GRAI - Global Returnable Asset Identifier

• SAP AII can derive the GRAI from the company prefix and asset type and you can search for products using the GRAI.

• GIAI - Global Individual Asset Identifier

• DOD construct - U.S. Department of Defense format

• User defined ID - You may define your own formats in Customizing under Auto-ID Infrastructure → Basic Settings → ID Settings → Define ID Settings. If you need to encode/decode your ID, you must also implement a BADI (/AIN/BADI_ID_CONV).

User defined formats are for internal use within a company. There are two types:

• Binary

• Natural language
