Restricting the Number of Substitutions
Use
As of Release 3.0A (First Customer Shipment and Support Package 1), you can decide if you only allow an alternative (a product from a location) to be used as a confirmation, or if you use substitutions, which consist of several alternatives.
To do so, you define the number of allowed substitutions of the original location product when evaluating the rules in the Integrated Rule Maintenance.
You have two entry choices:
- No restrictions (/SAPAPO/NRECS = 0)
- You can choose any number of substitutions, that is; there are no restrictions (this is the default setting).
- Only one substitution (/SAPAPO/NRECS = 1)
- You can choose only one alternative substitution. The system chooses the substitution that can deliver the complete quantity first regardless of the requested delivery date.
- If the system does not find a substitution that can deliver the complete quantity, no substitution is chosen.
- Using the user exit EXIT_/SAPAPO/SAPLATPT_002, you can confirm a substitution (for example, also a due date-dependent substitution). The user exit is called after the check. If the user exit is active, substitutions that were determined by the rules can be chosen. You can also change the confirmation (date and quantity).
- Several substitutions are possible. In the hierarchical display for the Explanation and Simulation component, you can choose only one substitution.
- You find the documentation for the user exit in Customizing for Global ATP under Enhancements--> Choose substitutions.
Note that the menu for Global ATP has been changed as of Release 3.0A (FCS + SP1). You find the Integrated Rule Maintenance in the SAP Easy Access menu under Master Data Rule Maintenance Integrated Rule Maintenance.
Note
If you choose 'Only one substitution' (/SAPAPO/NRECS = 1), but have not chosen a substitution procedure in the rule, this indicator is ignored.
If you have maintained the same location determinations using different location determination activities in a location determination procedure, the system can only interpret this as a real alternative when the number of allowed substitutions is restricted. This scenario (using different activities for the same substitution) is only supported when the substitutions found are actual alternatives for each other (either/or). This means you must set the Only one substitution (/SAPAPO/NRECS = 1) indicator or use another location determination procedure for this scenario.
