Enhancement of Order Interfaces

Use

As of R/3 Plug-In Release 2000.1, you can transfer additional data from the R/3 System to SAP APO using the function Enhancement of order interfaces to customer objects. This enables you to achieve more flexible data transfer in an R/3 system landscape. You can transfer up to six different data types in addition to the standard data to SAP APO. This functionality is supported in the APO System as of Release 3.0A.

Enhancements are transferred by means of optional table parameters in APO-CIF. In the R/3 System, you can fill an additional table with customer-specific fields that are transferred by means of the interface to the APO System and stored in the corresponding location. Filling the data in the R/3 System and processing it in the APO System occurs by means of customer exits and Business Add-Ins.

Effects on Data Transfer

This function enables you to flexibly determine the function of the data types to be transferred to SAP APO from the R/3 System. You have the possibility of transferring additional data to your enhancements and of using this data for data supply.

Effects on System Administration

In the R/3 System: The customer exit interface contains both tables of R/3 objects and CIF tables as table parameters. The enhancement table of the order are export tables of the customer exit. You can change CIF object tables using the customer exit. If you change these tables, you assume responsibility for the correctness of the data.

In the APO System, you must create structures equivalent to those in the R/3 System. You can update enhancement table parameters in the APO System in the corresponding database tables. The enhancements must be taken into consideration for read access. You can use the enhanced interfaces in the corresponding customer exits.
