Enhancements in Backorder Processing (BOP)

Use

As of SAP APO 4.0, the following enhancements are available in backorder processing:

• Check at schedule line level

For each ATP category, you can define in the SAP APO Implementation Guide under Global Available-to-Promise (Global ATP)-> Tools -> Define Check Level if the check is performed at item level, as before, or if it is now performed at schedule line level.

Instead of checking the entire runtime (of the scheduling agreement, for example), which can result in long-term assignments, BOP can check the individual schedule lines, especially for long-term requirements (such as scheduling agreements).

• Backorder processing for stock transport orders

Until now, backorder processing could not take stock transport orders into consideration, which meant that they were generally regarded as confirmed. As of SAP APO 4.0, the check contains stock transport orders.
