More Flexible Determination of the Confirmation Status (New)
Use
In SAP APO 3.1 the current
status of a sales scheduling agreement item was determined on a to-the-second basis when you created confirmations in the product view, product planning table or in backorder processing.
This meant that if the confirmed quantities and dates did not match the requested quantities and dates
to-the-second, then the corresponding sales scheduling agreement item was regarded as only partially confirmed (confirmed with deviation).
As of SAP APO 4.0 you can define whether you want the system to determine
the current status of a sales scheduling agreement item on a to-the-second, to-the-minute, to-the-hour
or to-the-day basis when you create confirmations in the product view, product planning table or in backorder processing.
The determination type defined in the confirmation profile controls whether requested quantities are confirmed fully or partially, that is with deviation, (
confirmation status determination),
and the result of the check is then displayed as the current status of the sales scheduling agreement item.
Using the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/CMDS_STATDET, Determine Confirmation Status, you can create your own checks, for example if you want to use a to-the-week check or if you want to use different checks for different customers.

Effects on Customizing
You use the determination type in the confirmation profile to define whether the confirmation status should be determined on a to-the-second, to-the- minute, to-the-hour or to-the-day basis.
You use the Business Add-In (BAdI) /SAPAPO/CMDS_STATDET
(Determine Confirmation Status) to implement your own confirmation status determination procedure.
You can also use the BAdI /SAPAPO/COMPSCHEDLIN (Compare Two Time Series) to compare two time series or to define your own time intervals.
