Derivations for Costing and Period Value Transfer (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 5.00, Financial Services (EA-FS 500), you can determine if data is to be derived using the Execute Derivations indicator in different transactions.

If you set the Execute Derivations indicator, the system carries out those derivations that are specific to the transaction first (financial object derivation from the master data of the original transaction), and then the general characteristic derivation ("COPA derivation steps" with the bank's own derivation steps). You can then save the new characteristic values in the relevant operating concern tables and financial object tables with a (possibly newly defined) profitability segment number. You can, however, only save the values in update mode.

The Execute Derivations indicator is available for the following transactions:

  • General costing run (transaction JB0K)
  • Edit financial object (transaction JBDO)
  • Edit period values (transaction JBPERIOD)
  • External data transfer (transaction KCLF)
If you set the Execute Derivations indicator, all the derivations are run for the external data transfer category 002 for period values.

Until now, for example, the system has only run the general characteristic derivation in the general costing run. Although you could save a potentially newly determined profitability segment number in the line item, it was not possible to save it directly in the financial object. This meant that characteristic values were depicted in different ways in different transactions for the same financial object.
