Changes to Variable Transaction (Old) in SEM Banking (Deleted)

Use

As of SAP ECC 5.00, Financial Services (EA-FS 500), you can no longer use the variable transaction (old) functions. These functions have been completely replaced by the new variable transaction functions. This means that accounts, non-interest bearing positions and services have to be recreated as variable transactions, and their evaluations in SEM Banking have to be converted into the new format as of a specific date.

The following applications have been removed from the area menu under Bank Transaction Data → Variable Transaction (old):

  • Accounts
  • Non-Interest Bearing Positions
  • Services

The following IMG activities have been removed from the Implementation Guide under External Data Transfer-> General Information -> External Data Transfer Categories:

  • Transfer category 003: Accounts
  • Transfer category 004: Daily Balances
  • Transfer category 005: Turnover

The following IMG activities have been removed from the Implementation Guide under Product Control-> Individual Control-> Variable Transactions (old):

  • Maintain Product Types
  • Set Up Number Assignment for Accounts
  • Set Up Number Assignment for Turnover
  • Set Up Number Assignment for Services

Note:

Technically, it is still possible to use the (old) variable transaction functions:

You can use the transaction JBD_VAR_TRANS_OLD to reach the Variable Transaction (Old) area menu. This menu contains all the removed functions (mentioned above) and allows you to run them if necessary. You can transfer these functions, and create your own user-specific menu.

However, SAP recommends that you only use the new Variable Transaction functions.
