Determining a costing rule (Release 4.03)
Description
Up to release 4.02, costing rules were found only via Product Assignment.
As of release 4.03 you have two additional options:
- Direct entry and saving of the costing rule during finance object maintenance (online or via data transfer)
- Derivation of the costing rule from master data
The following process takes always takes place when determining a costing rule:
- The system first checks if a costing rule is stored with the finance object. If this is the case, no further determination takes place. (no costing rule can exist for existing finance objects, as this was not possible before version 4.03)
- Next, the derivation procedure is carried out. If derivation for a costing rule is found, no further determination takes place. (here, no costing rule can be determined without changes having been made in Customizing, as this derivation was not possible before version 4.03)
- Finally, the product assignment is evaluated.
The same derivation strategy is used to derive a costing rule from master data as for Finance object integration. If this derivation strategy is called up for determining a costing rule, then all other fields determined or changed by the derivation are ignored. Change characteristics are not taken into account by the derivation. Only the costing rule is transferred for further processing.
Please note that costing rules are only stored with finance objects when they are transferred (online or via data transfer). A costing rule is not saved if it has been determined via derivation or product assignment.
