Alternative Payer/Payee for "Charges" Function

Use

When you enter Charges in the Workplace for Business Operations, you can define an alternative payer or payee for loans that are managed on the basis of customer accounts:

  • Alternative payee
In the detail screen for Charges, you can use the Alternative payer function to define an alternative payee for a business operation flow. The alternative payee does not necessarily have to exist in the system beforehand. The flow is posted via the customer account for the main borrower and paid to the recipient using the payment program.
  • Alternative payer
In the detail screen for Charges, you can use the Alternative payer function to define an alternative payer for a business operation flow. The alternative payer does not necessarily have to exist in the system beforehand. The flow is posted via the customer account for the main borrower, and can be collected by direct debit using the payment program.

In previous releases it was only possible to enter payments to an alternative payee or from an alternative payer using a suspense account. In addition, the alternative payer or payee had to exist in the system as a business partner or customer. The new function enables you to enter the payment data (name, address, bank details) for the alternative payer or payee directly with the business operation. It is no longer necessary to create the partner in the system beforehand. When the flow is posted to the FI customer account, the system automatically sets the Individual payee in document indicator for the payment data.

Effects on Existing Data

The payment data is saved in table VDAUSZ, which previously only contained the drawings on disbursements.

Effects on Customizing

In the IMG activity Define Flow Types, you need to define separate flow types for the individual activities. In order to be able to enter payments to an alternative payee or from an alternative payer, you must select the Third party pmt field. The field Incoming pmnt (generate incoming payment immediately) must be left blank.

  • In the Activity indicator field, enter "01: Receivable" for the relevant receivable flow types, and "03: Payable" for the relevant payable flow types. For these flow types, you must also leave the IP clearg field blank. This prevents errors from occurring when you process the open items using the functions Payment Postprocessing and Clear Overpayments Automatically.
  • In the IMG activity Define Condition Groups, you must assign the flow types to the application function "Charges".
  • If dunning is set to active for the flow type, you must set a dunning block in the IMG activity Company Code-Dependent Settings for Product Type. This ensures that the main borrower is not dunned for these items.
