Payoff Block and Incoming Payment Distribution Block

Use

A new Control tab has been added to the Basic data tab for loans. This contains the bank data for disbursements, which was previously on the Basic data: Organization tab, and two new fields:

• Payoff block

If you set the payoff block on the Basic data: Control tab, it is not possible to activate or post a payoff for the loan.

• Incoming payment distribution block

When you enter a payoff you have the option of setting an incoming payment distribution block, which you can set as a default in the IMG activity Define Template. When you activate or post the payoff, the system automatically sets the incoming payment distribution block on the Basic data: Control tab in the contract. This block generated by the payoff prevents open items for the loan from being cleared automatically by incoming payments. Instead, the system posts incoming payments to the contract as overpayments, unless there are other contracts in the incoming payment distribution level to which postings can be made. You can clear the overpayments using the Payment Postprocessing function. At present, you must reset the indicator in the contract manually, except when you delete or reverse the payoff. An automatic reset is being considered for a later release.

Effects on Customizing

In the IMG activity Company Code-Dependent Settings for Product Type, you can set up the fields for the payoff block and the incoming payment distribution block using Field selection control.
