Holds (New)

Use

From SAP R/3 Enterprise Financial Services 2.00 (EA-FINSERV 200) you can define holds on the account.

Holds enable you to adapt the available amount for an account by increasing or decreasing it.

Example of a business scenario:

If certain amounts need to remain on the customer account as securities, or as part of another business transaction, you can reserve an amount (hold) to reduce the available amount to zero. This prevents any money from being withdrawn from the account if the available amount is checked.

You can process holds in the product under Conditions and Limitsand on the account by choosing the Amounts Held tab page. To display a report on holds for selected accounts, choose Information System → List Of Holds.

Effects on Customizing

You can define an amount-based authorization check in Customizing for the product under Authorization Management → Amount-Dependent Authorization → Maintain Amount Limit for Hold.
