Enhancements to Attribute Maintenance

Scope of Functions

With Release 2.0B of SAP Business-to-Business Procurement the functions for maintaining attributes have been extended.

New Manager Functions for Maintaining Attributes

In the previous release, there were two ways of maintaining attributes:

  • System administrators, managers, or other assigned users could maintain attributes at organizational unit level in the organizational plan
  • Users could maintain their own attributes using the Change User Data (now renamed Change My Settings)scenario

Now, managers can additionaly maintain attributes of their own organizational unit and the users belonging to that organizational unit via the Change My Settings scenario.

  • They choose whether they wish to maintain their own attributes, those of their organizational unit, and those of specific users within the organizational unit.
  • They specify the system or product category for which they wish to maintain attributes. (If they specify a product category, the system is determined on the basis of this.)
  • A list of attributes for the selected system is displayed.
  • They can define a default value or exclude a value or range of values.
Default Values for Attributes

In the previous release, default values for attributes could only be set at user level using the Change User Data scenario. Now you can also set default values at organizational unit level in the organizational plan. Whereas previously, information about default values was stored at user level, this information is now stored in the organizational plan.

F1 help for attributes

You can now display F1 help for an attribute on the Attributes tab page in the Details subscreen. You position your cursor on an attribute ID and click the Info button. The attribute definition is displayed.

Translation of Texts for Organizational Units

In Customizing, you can now translate the texts for organizational units. You specify a plan version (for example, 01 Current plan), an object type (for example, O Organizational units), and a source and target language.
