Transferring InfoCube Contents

Use

You have the possibility of transferring the data (characteristics and attributes) into a different medium with InfoCube administration under InfoCube contents.

  • Choose the data target
  • Save in a new DB table
Choosing this function creates a new database in which the data is stored. The table format corresponds to the format in which the data from the output list was displayed.
You can only save BasicCubes and aggregate tables as database tables.
  • Add to existing DB tables
Choosing this function writes the data to an already existing database table. The format of the table must be the same as the format of the data you have selected. You would normally choose this function after creating a database table for this specific selection and have filled it blank. You can then add current data to the data already stored in the existing table.
  • Save to file (workstation)
Choosing this function generates a file on your local PC in which the data is stored. You then have the option of opening the file in Microsoft Excel, Word or Wordpad, for example.
You can save all types of InfoCubes to file.
  • Save to file (application server)
Choosing this function saves the data to a file on an application server. This option is recommended with large quantities of data.
  • Enter a name for the database table or the file, and choose Execute. When you choose a database table, it is then saved in the system and the data is transferred.
  • When you select a file, use F4 Help in the selection screen to choose the path you want for the file, specify a data format and choose Transfer.
