Simulating Loading of Master Data

Use

You have the option of simulating the loading of a master data packet before loading the data into BW. This gives you an early warning of any possible errors in loading the data, which means you are able to remove the problems in advance.

Integration

You can go to the function from the monitor detail screen ->Tab strip Updated data or All IDocs.

Functions

If there are no errors in the data, the loading simulation provides you with a detailed description of the processes that are carried out during loading. The left-hand frame structures the different types of master data that can be loaded, in a tree: Either

Time-dependent texts and/or time-constant texts or
Time-dependent master data attributes and/or time-constant texts

The different database cooperations, which are carried out during loading, are displayed on the level below the master data types (for example modify, insert, delete).

Clicking on a master data type or on a database cooperation, or using drag-and-drop on these objects in the right-hand frame, brings you to a detailed view of the relevant uploaded data.

If there errors in the data, then you will only be able to view the master data types in the left-hand frame and not the database cooperations.

Clicking on a master data type with drag-and-drop in the right-hand frame takes you to a detailed view of the relevant uploaded data.

The corresponding error log is displayed in the lower frame.
