Use

With SAP NetWeaver 7.0, there are the following new activities in the IMG under the Business Intelligence structure node:

Under Performance Settings

• Quantity Conversion: Set Buffer Size: With this activity, you can make settings for quantity conversion

• Settings for Database Interfaces: With this activity, you can make settings for the performance of the database interface.

• Settings for Database Interfaces (Oracle): With this activity, you can make settings for the performance of the database interface with Oracle.

Under UDI Settings by Purpose:

• For each purpose, you can make the required configurations step by step.

Under BI Integrated Planning:

• Define JCo Destinations: This activity enables you to define JCo destinations.

• Settings for Starting the Planning Modeler: This activity enables you to select the J2EE installation to be used to start the planning modeler or the planning wizard, or both.

• Settings for Lock Management: This activity enables you to make the settings for lock management of BI Integrated Planning.

• Release of Function Modules for Formulas: With this activity, you can release the function modules for using the formula editor.

Under Technical Content:

• Activate Conversion of Info Objects: With this activity, you can activate the data store for conversion of InfoObjects in BI Content.

Under Reporting-Relevant Settings:

• Analysis Authorizations: Select Concept: With this activity, you can choose whether you want to use the new concept of analysis authorizations or the previous concept of reporting authorizations.

• Set Standard Web Templates: With this activity, you can make settings for Web templates (as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0)

• Determine Settings for Web Templates: With this activity, you can specify Web item Web template properties (as of SAP NetWeaver BI 7.0).

• Settings for Distributing E-Mails With this activity, you can make settings for distributing e-mails using information broadcasting.

• Set Up Web Service Destination for the Adobe Document Services: With this activity you can make settings for printing from the Web Dynpro ABAP ALV by using the Adobe Document Services (ADS).

Under BI Documents:

• Create a CM Repository for Documents: This activity enables you to set up CM repositories in the portal.

• Migration of Documents to the CM Repository:This activity enables you to migrate documents to the CM Repository.

The following activities have changed:

Under Performance Settings:

• Parameters for Aggregates: Two parameters have been added to this activity.

• Maintain Runtime Parameters of DataStore Objects:Some parameters have been added to this activity. You also now make the settings by individual DataStore object.

Under Reporting-Relevant Settings:

• Set Standard Web Templates (Format SAP BW3.x): This activity is only valid for SAP BW 3.x.

• Make Settings for Web Templates (Format SAPBW 3.x): This activity is only valid for SAP BW 3.x.

• Settings for SAP Alerts: The title of this activity has changed. SAP Alerts are no longer used in the Reporting Agent; they are now part of Information Broadcasting.

Under TREX Connection:

• Under this structure node, the creation of an RFC destination is now differentiated by usage type.

Under BI Documents:

• Administrate Document Management: Various settings for BI metadata search have been added to this activity.

The following structure nodes are new or changed:

• The performance settings are now under their own structure node.

• The structure node UDI Settings by Purpose unifies all the settings for the UDI.

• There is a new structure node for BI Integrated Planning

The following activities have been deleted because they are obsolete:

• Properties for InfoProvider: These settings are now in InfoProvider maintenance under Environment -> InfoProvider Properties.

• Microsoft Analysis Integration:

• Connection between the Microsoft Analysis Services and BI

• Create RFC destinations

• Create a MOLAP database

• Hide menu entry "Publishing to the Enterprise Portal 5.0"
