Changes to the Interface

The setting Save In has been removed from the initial screen (see also, "Changes in Procedure").

In the Document menu you can find the functions Screen Output and Print, which were previously under the Output menu item.

Changes in procedure

Save

Previously, when users saved a document, it was saved in the version specified in the presetting. Now users can decide on the version each time they save.

  • Save raw version
Choose the "Save" icon in the toolbar or Document Save -> Raw Version.
  • Save active version
Choose Document -> Save -> Active Version (or pushbutton Save Active Version.

To output documents you can find the functions Screen Output and Print directly in the menu option Document.

User Clipboard

You can also use this SAPscript enhancement when you are creating documents, for example, to copy blocks of text to other documents. The text stored on the clipboard remains in the system after the dialog session has ended. Proceed as follows:

  1. Select the text you want to copy and choose Edit -> Selected Area -> Copy to User Clipboard -> Clipboard 1 (or Clipboard 2 or Clipboard 3). The selected text is copied to the chosen clipboard.
  2. In the target document place the cursor in the position you want to copy the text to, and choose Include -> Storage System -> Clipboard -> Clipboard 1 (or Clipboard 2, or Clipboard 3). The text will be inserted at the position of the cursor.

The content will remain in this clipboard until a new text is stored in this clipboard.

Creation of THLPF Entry when Creating a Data Element Supplement from F1 Help

Previously you could call the Maintain (F5) function in the help window of a screen field. A dialog box appeared in which you chose whether you wanted to edit the document for a data element itself or a separate data element supplement. If a data element supplement with a link to the screen field already existed, the number of the supplement was displayed too.

If you created a supplement, you had to create the link manually by making an entry in table THLPF. This is now done automatically by the program at the time when you save the data element supplement. At the same time an entry is created in a change task with which all links to the relevant program can be transported.

Inclusion of links from the menu function

Previously links had to be entered manually. This is now done by the program.

  1. At the cursor position where you want to insert a link, choose Include -> Link. A dialog box appears in which you can enter details about the link.
  2. Use the F4 Help in the field at the bottom to select the document class you want to link to.
  3. Enter the name of the document.
  4. Enter a name for the link to the document (this will be highlighted).
  5. Choose Continue. The link is inserted with the correct syntax.
  6. Check that the link works by choosing Document -> Screen Output, and double-clicking on the name of the link.
