Student Master Data (Changed and Enhanced)

Use

Student master data has been changed and enhanced.

The following changes were made:

  • The infotype Name Format (1034) is no longer used for students. The fields of this infotype have been incorporated in the infotype Personal Data (1702).
  • Challenge data is now stored in the new infotype Challenge (1703) and no longer in the infotype Additional Personal Data (1704).
  • The formatted student name is stored in the infotype Object (1000) as 'Last name, First name'. Consequently, you can search by last name in all maintenance transactions.
  • The start date of the validity period for the object Student (ST) is:
  1. the date of birth, if available
  2. or 01.01.1900
This makes it possible to create infotype records with a validity period that lies before the initial entry date.

The following infotypes have been enhanced or are new:

  • Infotype Personal Data (1702): new fields for nationality and birth
  • Infotype Additional Personal Data (1704): new fields for service and driver license information
  • Infotype Residence Data (1711)
  • Infotype Visa (1712)
  • New field Level of confidentiality in the internal infotype Status Attributes (1701)
  • Infotype Previous Activities (1718)

Further notes

The new fields Service status and Residence status use country-dependent check tables. Both fields therefore require the personnel country grouping for determination of possible input values. The SAP System determines the personnel country grouping from the country defined in the Implementation Guide (IMG).

You can use these two fields only if the country is defined in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Campus Management in the section Master Data -> Students -> Basic Settings -> Define Country of University. This setting is very important. Data that is stored for the wrong country must be converted.

Effects on Existing Data

During the upgrade, the system automatically converts existing master data with the program RHIQU25_STUDENT (XPRA: Conversion of Student Master Data from Rel. 4.62 -> Rel. 4.63).

Effects on Data Transfer

Existing programs for transfer of student master data must be adjusted accordingly.

You make the required settings for the new infotypes in the Implementation Guide (IMG) for Campus Management in the section Master Data -> Students.

You must define the country in which the university is located in the section Basic Settings.
