Short text
Splitting according to fixed and variable costs with material withdrawals
Description
If the withdrawal of a material is updated in Controlling and the costs of the material were calculated in a standard cost estimate, the costs are updated not only as a total but also split according to fixed and variable costs. When the planned order costs are calculated, the material costs are also split according to fixed and variable costs.
This function requires that the material have
- the price control indicator S (standard price)
- a current standard cost estimate
With the standard cost estimate, if you want to roll up the costs split according to fixed and variable costs, the following indicators must be set for the relevant cost components (such as internal activities and overhead):
- Fixed and variable costs,,,,,,with cost share
- Roll up costs,,,,,,,,,,with cost rollup
- Fixed and variable costs,,,,,,with stock valuation
If you also want to show the fixed and variable costs in the different cost component views, you must set the indicator Fixed and variable costs in the relevant views for the respective cost component.
This possibility of passing on fixed and variable costs separately supports the following intergrated functions:
- target cost calculation
- variance calculation
- WIP calculation
- scrap calculation
- results analysis
- profitability analysis

Further notes
You can also apply overhead to the fixed and variable cost shares separately by defining a corresponding calculation base for the cost elements to which the material withdrawal is assigned.
