Costed Multilevel BOM in the Information System

Description

A costed multilevel BOM is hierarchy containing the values of all items of a costed material according to its costed quantity structure (BOM and routing). It shows the itemizations for this costed quantity structure.

You can call up a costed multilevel BOM from the following points:

  • When creating and displaying a cost estimate with quantity structure
  • Choose Costs -> Costed BOM.

  • When creating and displaying a product cost estimate for a sales order
  • Choose Item -> Costing and then Costs -> Costed BOM.

  • In the Information System for Product Cost Planning
  • In the standard report selection for Product Costing, choose Overview.

  • Enter the relevant selection criteria.
A list is displayed with the cost estimates that meet these criteria.

  • Position the cursor on the desired cost estimate and choose Graphic BOM (only material items) or Graphic costing items (all items).
    or

  • In the standard report selection for Product Costing, choose a report for the product or sales order.

  • Enter the selection criteria and choose Overview.

  • In the Information System for Cost Object Controlling
  • In the standard report selection for Make-to-order (Sales-Order-Related Production) choose Costing -> Sales orders and the corresponding report.

  • Enter the sales order and choose Overview.

The BOM structure is displayed as a hierarchy. The material items are nodes that you can open up with Expand node.

The following items are displayed on a node (if they exist) with detailed data:

  • M,,Material
  • E,,Internal activity
  • F,,External processing
  • L,,Subcontracting
  • G,,Overhead
  • K,,Cost element (for manual costs)

Functions

  • Display items
To view only the material items, choose Settings -> Only material items.
To view all items, choose Settings -> All items.
  • Data on the items
To view additional information on individual items, choose the corresponding menu option with Goto. You can also page through the different views with Next screen.
  • Currencies
Under Settings you can switch between the object currency and the controlling area currency.
  • Header data
Settings allows you to display and hide a report header with general data on the cost estimate.
  • Totalize
With Settings -> Totalize operations you can create a total for items for each operation. The totals are shown in the hierarchy.
Hierarchy -> Totalize (or the sigma button) totals the associated values and quantities according to different criteria (such as cost element or cost center) over the entire hierarchy. The result is shown in a dialog box.
  • Change lot size
When you call up the hierarchy, the lot size of the highest material is passed down through the quantity structure.
Under Settings -> Convert quantities you can enter a different lot size; the quantities and values are converted accordingly and shown in the hierarchy. The fixed and variable costs are changed proportionally. The lot size that you enter here is displayed in the header as the cost base. The costing lot size remains unchanged. To go back to the original lot size, choose Settings -> Convert quantities and enter the costing lot size shown in the header.
Settings -> Costed quantities displays the lot sizes with which the individual materials were costed.
  • Report call for materials
Double clicking on a material item brings you to the cost report. (This function is not active when creating a cost estimate because the cost estimate has not yet been saved on the database.)
