Short text
Variance calculation and settlement of cost object hierarchies
Description
If you assign a material to a cost object hierarchy, all production orders, process orders, production cost collectors, etc. for this material are automatically assigned to the cost object hierarchy. This means that variance calculation for these orders must always be carried out for the cost object hierarchy as a whole.
If you want to assign some orders for the material to the cost object hierarchy but not others, you can set the indicator Order-related production, repetitive mfg and process mfg in the cost object category. Then you can specify in the order itself whether the order is assigned to the hierarchy.
- If you do not specify a variance key in the order, the order is treated as part of the cost object hierarchy. Variance calculation is carried out through the cost object hierarchy. In this case the settlement type for the order must be periodic. You must specify a corresponding default rule in the order type.
- If you specify a variance key in the order, the order is treated as a separate entity. The order is selected during variance calculation for order-related production, repetitive manufacturing or process manufacturing, and variances are calculated accordingly. Settlement takes place through order settlement.
