Short text

Archiving cost objects and cost object hierarchies

Description

In Release 3.0C you can archive cost object IDs and cost object hierarchies together with their transaction data (archiving object CO-KSTRG).

You can select cost object IDs for archiving using the following parameters:

  • Controlling area
  • Cost object category
  • Name of the cost object

The following data is archived:

  • Cost object master record
  • Long texts for the master record
  • Settlement rule
  • Totals records for transaction data
  • Line items for transaction data

For cost object hierarchies, the archiving object also contains:

  • All cost objects below the specified cost object
  • The relationships between the cost objects

Materials and run schedule headers that have been assigned to the cost object hierarchy are not archived.

To be able to archive a cost object, you must set a deletion mark and a deletion flag in the master data.

  • The deletion mark can be set for a general cost object if the balance of the actual costs for the cost object is zero.
  • The deletion mark can be set for a cost object ID within a cost object hierarchy if:
  • The balance of the actual costs is zero

  • The balance of the variances is zero

  • No single objects (such as materials or run schedule headers) are assigned to the cost object hierarchy

Effects on System Administration

You access the programs for the general cost object under Accounting -> Controlling -> Product cost acctg -> General cost objects -> Tools -> Archiving -> Cost object.

You can access the programs for the cost object hierarchies under Accounting -> Controlling -> Product cost acctg -> Repetitive mfg or Process mfg -> Tools -> Archiving -> Cost objects.
