New Features in the Allocation Processor, Release 3.0D

Description

  1. Variants

All screen entries made in the inital screens for assessment, distribution, periodic reposting, and indirect activity allocation can be saved as variants. Use "Extras -> Variant -> Save" and enter a name and a short text for the variants.

These variants can be transferred again to the inital screen at a later time ("Cycle -> Variant -> Get"), or used in the background as execution variants for allocation using the new background report function (see point 3 below).

Note that variants may be used only in the same application, the same allocation type (assessment, distribution, periodic reposting, indirect activity allocation), and divided according to actual and plan. For example, you cannot use any actual assessment variants in the inital screens for plan assessment or actual distribution.

For more information, see the Extended Help under "Controlling -> Cost Center Accounting -> Actual Postings and Allocations -> Period-End Closing -> Execute periodic allocations".

  1. Background processing

Planning background jobs in allocation has been moved to the standard SAP planning module. This makes the planning of background jobs possible and to start them immediately or at a later time in the same online dialog step.

Please note that, due to the new procedure for planning background jobs, batch inputs for these transactions must also be changed (new screens and screen order).

  1. New reports for background processing

In Cost Center Accounting and Activity-Based Costing, a new report program is used for executing allocations in the background: RKGALCOR. The former report, RKGALCO1, is to be supported for Release 3.0 only. The variants described in point 1 above can be used during background processing only with this new report.

  1. Receiver weighting factors in tracing factor "Variable portions"

If in this segment the receiver rule "Variable portions" is used, the function "Receiver weighting factors" is active, via the pushbutton and "Goto -> Receiver weighting factors". The function stores weighting factors per receiver to determine the corresponding receiver tracing factor, in order to (for example) prepare the tracing factors of different receivers as compatable. The default value is 1.

Effect on batch input

See point 2, "Background processing".
