Territory Management (New)

Use

As of Release 3.0, there is a new function in CRM Mobile to support territory management. You can access this in SAP CRM Mobile System Maintenance, under Territory Management.

There is a user exit for you to define territories based on a criterion of your choice, for example, geographical area, or business sector. You can arrange territories hierarchically. In many cases, the territory hierarchy reflects the sales structure.

You can assign employees and business partners to territories. There is no limit to the number of assignments you can make.

Business partner related data is replicated based on the territory hierarchy, so that each employee receives exactly the information he or she requires, and based on the employee hierarchy, so that each manager receives all of the information that his or her team requires. Because both territories and the assignment of employees and business partners made to them are time dependent, you can react easily to any changes, such as the absence of an employee.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

If your project is to include territory management functions, then the project team needs to write on the CRM server an ABAP program for automatic subscription generation. SAP can provide a template for this program on request.

There is no integration with CRM Online, because CRM Online does not yet support territory management functions.
