Processing DataSources for BW adapter (new)

Use

Several additional settings are necessary for the extraction with the BW adapter for a DataSource. These are stored as BW adapter metadata. In Release 3.0, you have the option of processing DataSources and BW adapter metadata that extracts data in the synchronization flow.

You have the following options:

• You can create a DataSource and maintain the BW adapter metadata.

• You can enhance a DataSource that has been delivered, and add to BW adapter metadata accordingly.

Versioning

You must deactivate the BW adapter metadata before you can use a DataSource for the BW adapter (in synchronization and messaging flow). When you activate, there is an active version that you can compare with the version that has been delivered. This gives you the option of changing and testing a DataSource and its BW adapter metadata, or you can also return to the version that has been delivered.

You process DataSources for BW adapters in the work step Process DataSource and Enhance BW Adapter Metadata.

You activate BW adapter metadata in the work step Activate BW Adapter Metadata. Here, you can also compare the active version with the version that has been delivered.
