Signature Recording in Activity Management (New for SP02)

Use

As of CRM Release 4.0, Support Package 2, field sales representatives can record doctors' signatures in CRM Mobile,which can then be uploaded to CRM Enterprise. Signatures can be recorded on a Personal Digit Assistant (PDA) or tablet computer. Signature recording is important in the Pharmaceuticals industry, as in some countries it is compulsory that the details of the products or samples handed out to physicians be recorded with the doctor's signature. Signature recording also enables pharmaceutical companies to keep track of their products for auditing purposes.

Signatures are recorded in the Activity Journal Reporting tileset in CRM Mobile and you can display signatures on the Attachments tab page in CRM Enterprise.

Once the signature has been recorded, specific fields become disabled in CRM Mobile and CRM Enterprise, thus preventing unauthorized entries. For further information on disabled fields, see Add-In: Signatures in Activities.

Note that signatures can only be recorded in CRM Mobile for the pharmaceuticals industry.

Prerequisites: Specifics for CRM Enterprise

1. In order to activate signature recording in CRM Enterprise, you first need to activate the implementation CRM_PHA_SIGN in the Business Add-In CRM_ACT_PHARMA_CHECK. For more information on this and other necessary settings, see Add-In: Signatures in Activities.
2. Before you can upload the signature to CRM Enterprise as an archived document, you need to maintain the document type in the implementation guide. For more information on how to do this, see Add-In: Signatures in Activities.

Prerequisites: Specifics for CRM Mobile

In order to activate signature recording in CRM Mobile, you need to enable the application parameter ACTSIGNATURE. For information on how to do this, see Add-In: Signatures in Activities.
