Business Partner Group Hierarchy (Extended)

Use

There are new functions for maintaining the business partner group hierarchy in the dialog, as well as in the area of data exchange with SAP R/3.

You can use the following possibilities in SAP CRM Enterprise:

  • You can transfer SAP R/3 customer hierarchies from SAP R/3 to SAP CRM for all hierarchy types for which you have established a mapping to a CRM hierarchy category in SAP CRM.
  • In the dialog of the group hierarchy you can now decide which SAP R/3 customer hierarchy type is displayed as a subtree. This ensures optimum performance when exchanging and displaying complex hierarchies with many hierarchy nodes.
When you select a group hierarchy in the dialog, a dialog box appears with particular selection criteria (required entry fields) to restrict the display of the tree to a certain hierarchy type.
You can choose the following criteria:
  • Sales area data

  • Business partner

  • Date

  • You can maintain SAP R/3 customer hierarchies on the SAP CRM server by assigning business partners to the nodes in the relevant group hierarchy. These business partners are used only in processes in SAP CRM, for example the partner/product ranges (PPRs). These changes are not transferred to SAP R/3.
The search Business Partner/Sales Area is also available to you in the locator for this purpose, allowing you to search for hierarchy nodes using the aforementioned criteria.
Note
You can maintain only the data on the tab page Assigned Business Partners in the dialog of the group hierarchy.

You can use the following possibilities in SAP CRM Mobile Sales:

  • It is possible from now on to process hierarchies for business partners. This applies to customer hierarchies from SAP R/3 as well as to group hierarchies that are created in SAP CRM.
You can use the following general functions:
  • Search for hierarchy trees and nodes

  • Display of hierarchy trees with the relevant business partner and contact person data

  • Display of hierarchy trees with the relevant data for Trade Promotion Management (TPM) and for Account Planning

  • You can replicate business partner hierarchies from SAP R/3 to the sales are.
  • You can maintain SAP R/3 customer hierarchies by assigning business partners to the nodes, in the same way as for SAP CRM Enterprise. These business partner can also only be used in processes in SAP CRM.
Note
You can maintain only the data in the tile Assigned Business Partners/Contact Persons.
  • You can maintain group hierarchies that were created in SAP CRM Enterprise, in a similar way as in SAP CRM Enterprise.
You can use the following functions to do this:
  • Creation of new nodes with the relevant detailed data for an existing hierarchy tree

  • Assignment of business partners to a node

Note

No new group hierarchies can be created in the dialog for the SAP CRM hierarchy categories for which a mapping to an SAP R/3 customer hierarchy type exists.

Effects on Existing Data

Effects on Data Transfer

If you use hierarchies in CRM that were downloaded from SAP R/3, you must carry out an initial download of SAP R/3 customer hierarchies after the upgrade.

Effects on System Administration

Effects on Customizing

Make the necessary settings under Master Data -> Business Partner -> Business Partner Group Hierarchy -> Data Exchange of R/3 Customer Hierarchies with the CRM System -> Assign R/3 Customer Hierarchy Type to CRM Hierarchy Cat..
