Committing BusinessTransaction Items for Delivery (new)

Use

It may be necessary for you to commit to the customer that the goods are delivered by a certain date. For this purpose you can agree with the customer on a maximum time period (called agreed delivery time) starting from the posting date of the business transaction. The system calculates a commitment date according to a setting in Customizing and records the result in the commitment schedule line for the business transaction item. Using this setting, you can control whether the commitment date changes or remains the same if the business transaction item is changed, for example during a subsequent availability check. Of course you can also change the commitment date manually.

If the confirmation date of an item is after the commitment date, then this item is overdue. This status is displayed in the business transaction item. You can display overdue items when you maintain business transactions by selecting the Item is overdue status in the locator.

Effects on Customizing

You maintain the agreed delivery time for the business transaction in the header or in the item. To display the agreed delivery time field, you maintain the settings for the transaction type or the item category in Customizing for Customer Relationship Management under Basic Functions -> Date Management.

You control how the system should calculate the commitment date under Basic Functions -> Date Management -> Assign Date Profile to Transaction Type in the Commitment Date field.
