Authorization Check in the Reporting Framework (Changed)

Use

As of Release 4.0, the authorization check during the search in the locator, and in the search area corresponds to the existing authorization check for business transactions. The system no longer checks authorizations at the level of the business transaction category, (for example activity, opportunity, sales, service), but at all levels (own transactions, assigned organizational units, business transaction category, transaction category, sales organization/service organization) . In this way, transactions are no longer displayed in the locator or search area for which the user has no authorization.

As of CRM Release 4.0, the system also checks authorizations when the search criteria is entered. A function module looks at the entered search criteria, and checks the specified authorizations. A search result is then displayed to the user with the business transactions for which he is actually authorized according to the role assigned to him. (That is, the business transactions for which he is authorized).

Effects on Existing Data

Before you use the new authorization check in the locator, you have to execute the CRM_INDEX_FAST_AUTHO_FIELD_UPD report. The report updates the CRMD_ORDER_INDEX table, that is the table fields for the transaction category, and the indicator Task is private are filled for existing business transactions, as these fields did not exist in the table previously.
