Multiple Languages for Descriptions in Product Master (New)

Use

To meet customer requirements, CRM Release 4.0 now allows you to maintain descriptions for attributes, set types, categories, and hierarchies in multiple languages. This means it is no longer necessary to log onto the system in several languages in order to maintain the descriptions, they can be entered directly with your normal logon language in the languages of your choice. This feature is based on the multiple-language product descriptions in product maintenance and consists basically of a table with two columns, one for the language and one for the description.

When the following objects are created, the entry in the Description field is entered in the new table Descriptions. Additional descriptions can be entered in this table in other languages:

  • Attributes
Additional descriptions can be entered under Descriptions on the tab page Definition in attribute maintenance.
An additional description can also be defined for each fixed value or range under Language-Specific Descriptions for Fixed Values on the tab page Value Ranges.
  • Set types
Additional descriptions can be entered under Descriptions on the tab page Definition in set type maintenance.
  • Hierarchies
Additional descriptions can be entered under Descriptions on the tab page Hierarchy in hierarchy maintenance.
  • Categories
Additional descriptions can be entered under Descriptions on the tab page Category in category maintenance.
