Contract-Independent Service Plan (New)

Use

As of SAP CRM 5.0, you can process a service plan as a separate business transaction, independent of service orders.

The contract-independent service plan is based on the object for which the services are rendered and is valid for the lifetime of that object. Unlike a service plan that is bound to a service contract, the contract-independent service plan contains no customer-specific or sold-to party-specific data, and is independent of the duration of a service contract.

If you want data in the service plan to be created with reference to business partners and billing documents, you can do so either by referencing the Service Plan service process to a valid service contract, or by using a functional enhancement to add a service plan to a service contract. In the service plan, one or more service plan items can then be added at item level of the contract.

Then, if a service should be rendered in the context of a service plan item, the system generates a service order, into which the service contract data is automatically copied.

For service plans, the SRMP (SAP Service Plan) transaction type exists in Customizing in the standard system. This transaction type has the leading transaction category Service Plan (= BUS2000245).

The new item category SPMP (= Service Plan Item in Service Plan) was created with the item object type Service Plan Item CRM (= BUS2000148)

You can either use this transaction type and item category or you can copy them and change them to meet your needs.
