Definition of Route, Carrier, and Means of Transport (New)

Use

As of release 5.0 you can manually specify the route, carrier and means of transport in the sales order that should be processed in SAP APO and influence Transportation Management there.

You can specify this data manually at header level or for each order item. Transport data stored at header level applies for all order items for which you have not defined separate data. If you do not enter this transport data manually, it is determined at item level in SAP Advanced Planning and Optimization (SAP APO) during scheduling. If you change the data manually, the system carries out scheduling and the availability check for the order items again.

Special system and configuration prerequisites apply for the use of this function. You can find more information on this in the Implementation Guide for Customer Relationship Management under Transactions-> Basic Settings-> System Configuration for Service Parts Management.
