Fast Entry Product Configuration (Enhanced)

Use

As of Release 5.0, you can exclusively use the keyboard to quickly run through complex configurations and enter all required values for product configuration. Therefore, you can create a sales order quickly and efficiently.

You can create a sales order using keyboard commands or through a new fast search or set capability for characteristics and values. This function saves time and effort in completing the order and increases accuracy.

A Search/Set input field is added on the Title Simulator screen. This allows the you to enter a value directly and search for it. If the name of the value is unique, the value is assigned to the characteristic.

This function:

  • Does not support entering of values for numerical characteristics.
  • Only searches within the current instance of the product
  • Does not allow you to search for invisible characteristics or values in invisible characteristics. You can find invisible characteristics and their values only when these characteristics have been made visible by you in the user settings.
  • Requires a server round-trip for each set or search. This means that if online evaluate is not set, then the search for any characteristic or characteristic value is preceded by the "check" functionality and any characteristic or characteristic value is verified against the IPC server database.
  • Supports entering of characteristic values only when they are unique. If you try to set a non-unique value with search or set, an error message is displayed.
