Automatic Creation of Equipment in Service Processing

Scope of Functions

In service processing, you can create a new piece of equipment. To do this, enter the reference type 03 (= technical reference object created automatically) for the service product.

The data for the new equipment is copied from a sample piece of equipment. You can either define the sample equipment directly for the service product or enter it when the order is created.

The system copies all the processed data from the sample equipment. In addition, the sales area and the partners are copied from the SD order. You can use customer exit ITOB0002 to read and change data for the sample equipment, as required.

When the service order is saved, the new equipment is also saved and entered in the service order as a reference object. The equipment first obtains the system status INCR (= being created). After the service order has been technically completed, the status is reset again to INCR.

If the sample equipment is configured, this data is also transferred and, if necessary, copied into the configuration of the service product as default values. In this case, the configuration of the equipment is reserved, The configuration data on the new equipment is updated when the service order is technically completed.
