Configuration Control (Enhanced in DIMP 4.71)

Use

As of SAP DIMP 4.71, the Configuration Control application provides the following functions:

Component Installation and Removal transaction (IE4N):

  • New transaction to maintain user-specific settings.
  • New transaction to maintain user-group specific settings.
  • The simulation mode for installations, removals, and swaps now includes the same checks as the save mode. This means that, for example, the creation of the relevant notifications and structure gaps can also be reviewed in the simulation mode.
  • The application log for component installations and removals now also contains an overall status message. Furthermore, the application log differentiates between messages related to the simulation mode and the save mode.
  • The screen for stock placements and stock removals of materials now also contains an Installation Location group box, enabling the relevant information to be entered and included in notifications.
  • You can enter a task code on the notification tabstrip. By means of this task code you could, for example, trigger follow-up actions for component installations and removals.
  • By means of a Business Add-In (BAdI), you can now update reservations by entering a different material than originally planned. SAP provides a default implementation.

Configuration Control Workbench (transaction CCM2):

  • New Business Add-Ins (BAdIs)
  • BAdI for quantity check within overall configuration check. SAP provides a default implementation.

  • BAdI to define customer-specific checks within overall configuration check.

  • BAdI to adapt message type of system messages in application log according to check type.

  • BAdI for multiple check log: The application log shows a check result for every iPPE product class involved in the MPL explosion and the check results are structured by product class. Furthermore, an additional overall check result is displayed. SAP provides an example implementation.

  • Partial configuration check: It is now possible to perform a partial configuration check by only implementing one BAdI instead of two. An additional method can filter objects from both the actual and the allowed configuration before executing the configuration check.
  • New authority object for structure gap maintenance: Only authorized users can manually change, delete and create structure gaps.
