Inbound Deliveries on Hold/Inbound Delivery Items Without Preceding Document (New)

Use

  • Until now, it was not possible to save a document when data was incorrect or missing in order to process it at a later point in time.
From Release DI 4.6C2, you have the possibility to save incorrect and incomplete inbound deliveries in your SAP system by using the function Put on hold.
Inbound deliveries on hold can be processed and completed at a later point in time. You cannot post goods receipt for inbound deliveries on hold. They are, however, MRP-relevant, if you have made the according settings in the purchase order on which they are based (confirmation control key).
Example:
A truck driver cannot find all shipping papers when arriving at the goods receipt office, so the person responsible in the office can only enter incomplete data in the system. When reaching the unloading point the truck driver finds the papers again. The person responsible at the unloading point can now post goods receipt, based on the inbound delivery on hold which the person at the goods receipt office saved.
  • Also new are inbound delivery items without a preceding document.
Up to now, inbound deliveries without a preceding document could only be entered as Automotive subitems in the goods receipt office. You can only access the standard dialog via the purchasing document and then create further items without preceding document.
From Release DI 4.6C2, you can mark items as items without preceding document(purchasing document). They are controlled via the item type. Items without preceding document can be:
  • faulty deliveries

  • deliveries free of charge, trial deliveries

  • component deliveries

  • packaging material and auxiliary packaging materials created manually

  • text items
