Dynamic Attributes in SAP Bidding Engine (Changed) (SP02)

Use

As of mySAP Supplier Relationship Management Release 3.0 Support Package 02, you can define dynamic attributes as specific characteristics of products and services in your bid invitation, allowing you to compare bids using both the standard fields and any additional criteria that are defined as dynamic attributes in SAP Bidding Engine. Whereas previously these were known simply as attributes, they are now even more flexible and easy to use, and are now referred to as dynamic attributes.

As previously, dynamic attributes can be specified to prompt potential suppliers to provide more detailed information on the required goods or services. However, whereas previously you had to choose from a predefined set that had been created by your system administrator, you can now create dynamic attributes yourself directly from the bid invitation in SAP Bidding Engine and assign them to different groups.

These groups are defined centrally in Customizing and assigned to different product categories. When you create a bid invitation in SAP Bidding Engine,a selection of attributes is then offered based on the product category you have entered in the bid invitation. You can create a new attribute either for the particular bid invitation in which you are working only, or you can create one that can be used again - either solely by you or also by others - and assign it to an existing group.

If you are not happy with the selection of attributes offered on the basis of the Customizing settings, you can create new attributes or delete existing ones directly from the bid inivitation.

You can also change the settings for attributes, for example, whether or not it is mandatory for the bidder to provide information on the attribute in the bid document. If you make such changes directly from a bid invitation in SAP Bidding Engine, the changes pertain only to that bid invitation. If you wish to change or delete an attribute permanently, you must do this centrally in Customizing.
