Novation (New)

Use

As of SAP SRM 5.0, you can use a new function called novation within Contract Management that allows you to automatically exchange the name of the old vendor with that of the new vendor in purchasing contracts after a merger or buy-out. You access this function under Contract Management in the Change Vendors in Contractstransaction of the side menu.

There is a new selection screen for the novation report BBP_CTR_NOVATION_CONVERT where you can enter the following data:

• Name of the previous vendor

• Name of the new vendor

• Date, time, and time zone of the novation

Here you can also search for all of the contracts relevant to the previous vendor.

After you have made the novation changes, you can display the new validity periods (which have been calculated by the system) for the contracts of the previous vendor and the new vendor in the Partnerscreen of the Process Contracttransaction.

Changes to the User Interface

You access the novation functions under Contract Management in the Change Vendors in Contracts transaction of the side menu.

The function is based on the report BBP_CTR_NOVATION_CONVERT that transfers the name of the new vendor and the revised dates for the validity periods to the database.
