Displaying results using the cost-of-sales method

Description

FI and CO now contain the new characteristic "Functional area". The functional area classifies business expenditures according to function, such as administration, sales, research and development, and so forth.

For all expense postings, the functional area can be determined from existing assignements and be entered in the document line. It is therefore available for transferring to Profit Center Accounting.

In Profit Center Accounting, the functional area has been added as a new key field in the data tables.

This makes it possible to call up profitability reports for profit centers using the cost-of-sales method.

Effects on Customizing

You create function areas as master data in Customizing under "Company structure".

Further notes

In Release 3.0D, it will also be possible to plan profit centers directly using functional areas.
