Foundation (Enhanced)

Use

As of component extension 3.0 for SAP Environment, Health, and Safety Management (SAP EHS Management), the foundation application is enhanced to support you in configuring your system correctly and extracting data for reports or analytics.

The enhanced foundation application includes the following new and changed features:

  • File-based reporting (new)
You can generate analytical reports using the file-based reporting function. You can export data in a CSV file format or in a Microsoft Excel 2007 file format. For performing analytics in Microsoft Excel 2007, you can create a template file and upload it into the system. This template is then used for generating the export file.
Depending on the size of your generated file, the export is processed in either the foreground or the background. Generated export files are sent by e-mail or stored in the system for downloading.
  • Task Management (changed)
You can set and change a due date for tasks and processes and you can search for tasks and processes with a specific due date. Along with other new search functionalities in task management, a restriction of the query duration is implemented, too.
  • Mapping Workbench (new)
You can use SAP Interactive Forms by Adobe for displaying or collecting data. To simplify the data provisioning for these forms, a new automatic generation of data providers based on the mapping of business object nodes into the form context can be used.
  • Listed substances and regulatory lists (new)
To support health and safety and product compliance processes, you can create regulatory lists in the application to store data about the listed substances that affect your organization. As regulatory and internal policies change, you can revise the regulatory lists and still keep a record of earlier regulatory lists.

You make the Customizing settings for file-based reporting and for the new functions in task management in Customizing for Foundation for EHS Management.
