Enhancements to Dangerous Goods Basic Data

Description

In EH&S Release 2.5B, the following reports are available to convert data in Customizing tables and substance characteristic categories no longer being used:

  • DGICN_CUST_HAZINSUB
This report generates substances which contain the hazard-inducing substances maintained in Customizing as identifiers. It is used to prepare for use of the report DGICN_HAZINDSUB.
To execute the report DGICN_CUST_HAZINSUB, enter the following data in the transaction HMU1:
  • Substance category that the substance to be generated should have, for example, listed substance

  • Substance authorization group to which the substances are assigned

  • Identification type under which the description of the hazard-inducing substances are entered by the system as identifiers

  • Identification category under which the description of the hazard-inducing substances are entered by the system as identifiers

Process flow of the report DGICN_CUST_HAZINSUB:
The system reads the hazard-inducing substances from the Customizing tables TDG33 and TDG34 and generates a substance that contains the Customizing entry as an identifier for every table entry.
  • DGICN_HAZINSUB
This report enters the substances generated with the report DGICN_CUST_HAZINSUB as hazard inducers for all substances if the hazard inducers have been maintained in the substance characteristic category SAP_EHS_1022_031 (hazard inducers).
To run the report DGICN_HAZINSUB without errors, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
  • You have maintained a usage profile.

  • You have assigned a usage profile whose new characteristic value is Active to the substance characteristic categories selected in the input selection SAP_EHS_1022_032 (hazard inducers) or SAP_EHS_1022_023 (dangerous goods classification).

  • You have converted the hazard-inducing substances that you have previously maintained in Customizing tables to substances using the report DGICN_CUST_HAZINDSUB.

To execute the report DGICN_HAZINSUB, enter the following data in the transaction HMU2:
  • Substance category with which the Customizing table entries should be converted

If you want to convert a number of substance categories, start the report DGICN_HAZINSUB several times.
  • Substances; you can only enter the substances for which the conversion is to be run

If you want to convert substances that reference other substances, you must convert the referenced substances first.
  • Substance characteristic category in which the hazard inducers are to be entered

If, for substances with referencing, you want to convert not only hazard inducers but also data using the report DCICN_NODG, you must choose the substance characteristic category SAP_EHS_1022_032 (hazard inducers) when converting the hazard inducers so that no referenced data is overwritten.
  • Change numbers; the Active indicator is set for the object type substance for these change numbers

Process flow of the report DGICN_HAZINSUB:
The system first creates all the dangerous goods regulation-hazard inducer category combinations maintained (from the Customizing tables THM081 and THM083) without substance entries. Then the system reads the substances with the date 01.01.0001 and with the date of every change number entered. If the entries in the previous structure do not match the new structure, the system automatically makes the necessary changes.
  • DGICN_IDENTIFIER
This report reads the identifier of a substance with the highest priority, meaning it reads the top Customizing table entry that matches the identifiers maintained. The report DGICN_IDENTIFIER determines the dangerous goods descriptions maintained in the Customizing tables (TDG67 and TDG68) for this identifier with the mode of transport categories and enters the descriptions as further identifiers. The substance lists available in Customizing (Customizing table THM063) for the corresponding mode of transport categories are assigned to each of these additional identifiers.
To run the report DGICN_IDENTIFIER without errors, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
  • You must enter a combination of identification type and identification category that you have not yet used, so that no data is overwritten.

  • Each dangerous goods regulation that is maintained in the Customizing table THM063 must contain an entry in the Substance list (SLSTID) field.

To execute the report DGICN_IDENTIFIER, enter the following data in the transaction HMU3:
  • Substances for which the conversion is to be executed

You enter the substances explicitly after you have chosen the substance characteristic categories.
  • Substance categories for which the conversion is to be executed

  • Change numbers; the Active indicator is set for the object type substance for these change numbers

  • Identification type under which the identifiers are entered

  • Identification category under which the identifiers are entered

Process flow of the report DGICN_IDENTIFIER:
On the date 01.01.0001 and at the times of all change numbers entered, the system reads the identifiers for all substances and substance categories and compares them with the corresponding valid dangerous goods descriptions in Customizing. If they do not match, the system updates the identifiers. Substance lists are still assigned to the identifiers that are linked via the mode of transport category. The system only enters identifiers if an entry exists in the Customizing table THM063 for the respective mode of transport category. The mode of transport category is entered in the Sort sequence field after the report DGICN_IDENTIFIER is executed.
  • DGICN_NODG
This report reads the entries maintained in the substance characteristic category Not a DG - full/empty transport. This substance characteristic category was used up to EH&S Release 2.2.
The report DGICN_NODG converts the entries by setting the corresponding indicators Not DG or Not DG - empty on the Transport classification tab in the substance characteristic category SAP_EHS_1022_023 (dangerous goods classification).
To run the report DGICN_NODG without errors, the following prerequisites must be fulfilled:
  • You have maintained a usage profile.

  • You have assigned a usage profile to the substance characteristic category SAP_EHS_1022_023 (dangerous goods classification) for whose new characteristic values the Active indicator is set.

To execute the report DGICN_NODG, enter the following data in the transaction HMU4:
  • Substances for which the conversion is to be executed

If you want to convert substances that reference other substances, you must convert the referenced substances first.
  • Substance categories for which the conversion is to be executed

If, for substances with referencing, you want to convert both the substance characteristic category 'Not a DG - full/empty transport' and the hazard inducers, you must choose the substance characteristic category SAP_EHS_1022_032 (hazard inducers) when you convert the hazard inducers so that no referenced data is overwritten.
  • Change numbers; the Active indicator is set for the object type substance for these change numbers

Process flow of the report DGICN_NODG:
On the date 01.01.0001 and at the times of all change numbers entered, the system reads the entries for the substance characteristic category 'Not a DG - full/empty transport' and compares them with the set indicators Not DG or Not DG - empty on the Transport classification tab. If they do not match, the system adjusts the identifiers.

Further notes

Important:
Before you start the reports, you should check the data you want to convert. If a lot of change statuses exist, these can only be converted correctly if you enter the corresponding change numbers.
