Multilingual Capability

If you use several code pages in your SAP EH&S Occupational Health system, you should only use characters that appear in all code pages. To avoid errors, it is best to use the syntactical character set, because it only contains characters that appear in all code pages.

For more detailed information on the syntactical character set, see the SAP Library. Choose: EH&S - Environment, Health & Safety -> EH&S Product Safety -> EH&S Native Language Support -> Code Page -> Syntactical Character Set.

Law-Specific Data

In the SAP EH&S Occupational Health component, data is not stored with the laws of a specific country in mind.
In view of the data protection legislation, we generally recommend running the EH&S Occupational Health component in a separate system for each different country. But if you use just one system to run EH&S Occupational Health for several countries, you should create a separate client for each of them.

In the case of cross-country business scenarios, if the EH&S Occupational Health component is not run in a separate system or client for each of the countries involved, the system will not handle law-specific data differently for each country. For example, when you access the proposal list, the system will perhaps propose employees for health surveillance protocols that they do not need because of country-specific regulations. If this is the case, you must be careful not to assign incorrectly proposed protocols to employees during the fine-tuning phase.
