New Archiving Object 'FI_SL_DATA' for FI-SL

Description

For Release 4.0A, the FI-SL archiving periphery was completely renovated and enhanced.

The changes include writing, deleting, and reloading archives, as well as a new archive/database read periphery.

Specifically:

  • The archiving program contains two archiving types
  • 'Line item archiving' (with additional document selection criteria)
    and

  • 'Summary and line item archiving' (with fixed fields as selection criteria).
Redeveloped selection routines (that no longer run with a logical database) improve runtime greatly by reading the data with table orientation.

  • Deleting archives that were created 'without database update' is now possible. You do not need to repeat a 'production' archiving run after a successful 'unproductive' archiving run. Instead, you can delete data from the database by executing the deletion program (in the archiving menu) separately.
  • Read programs which can be generated in Customizing for any FI-SL tables read data from an archive and/or database. Results are output in the form of simple reports.
  • The reload program, like the archiving program, has two reload modes (line items, summary and line items) which can invert all archiving procedures.

You can configure all the functions listed above in archive Customizing and execute them from the application menu.

In addition to the functional enhancements and performace improvements made in this Release, there is now a new connection between Report Writer/Report Painter functions and archiving.

The old archiving object GLX-OBJEKT is automatically converted to the new archiving object using XPRA and the current administration data.

You can process the old archiving objects that were converted to new objects with all the new functions.
