Payroll Control Center: Configuration Workbench
Use
Previously you had to go through a dozen of Customizing activities in order to set up Payroll Control Center in Employee Central Payroll. Now with the business function Payroll Control Center: Configuration Workbench (HCM_LOC_CI_107), you can use Configuration Workbench as a one single point of entry to do so, because Configuration Workbench simplifies the configuration by integrating the function of these Customizing activities.
You can use this business function to do the following:
- Set up Payroll Control Center by configuring the following types of objects:
- Validation rules
- Analytics charts
- Analytics
- Process step templates
- Policies (or policy types if business function Payroll Control Center: Simplified Configuration (HCM_LOC_CI_92) is activated)
- Processes (or process types if business function Payroll Control Center: Simplified Configuration (HCM_LOC_CI_92) is activated)
- Validate the configuration of each object
- Check the dependency of each object
Effects on Existing Data
You use the Configuration Workbench (PYC_CONFIG_WORKBENCH) program to set up Payroll Control Center
by configuring all required objects. You can access this program from SAP Easy Access Menu under Human Resources -> Payroll -> International -> Tools -> Payroll Control Center.
A new authorization object P_PYC_CWB is introduced to control users' authorization to display and edit objects in Configuration Workbench.
Effects on Customizing
Previously, you had to configure Payroll Control Center entities by going through a dozen of Customizing activities.
In the current version, Configuration Workbench reduces the complexity of implementation by integrating the function of these Customizing activities. You can use Configuration Workbench in the development system as a single point of entry to configure Payroll Control Center entities. The Customizing activities can still be used if you choose not to use Configuration Workbench.
