Fast Entry Screen for Hiring (Transaction PA42)

Description

A fast entry screen for a hiring event is provided in Release 4.5A. This allows data to be entered on one screen for all the infotypes associated with a hiring event. These are the following:

You can access the fast entry screen with transaction PA42. To then access the British-specific fast entry screen, you must specify a British personnel area (ie. where MOLGA is 08).

The system performs basic validation on the initial screen, such as checking name and gender consistency, and the NI number. If data entered is incomplete or incorrect, you are taken to the infotypes concerned to make the necessary entries. More complex validation is performed there.

Note
The Annual salary field is not included on the fast entry screen in Release 4.5A. The user will therefore always go to the Basic Pay (Infotype 008) screen as part of the validation process.

Effects on System Administration

To access the British-specific chain of infotypes in a hiring event, the local user parameters need to be set up correctly. This means that LND, MOL, and UGR must all be set to 08.
