Changeover to Processing Leave and Absences with Time Management
Scope of Functions
Until Release 4.0, leave and absences were processed using the New Zealand Leave Accruals component. Since Release 4.5B, there has been a changeover to processing leave and absences using leave quotas in Personnel Time Management.
The main difference between New Zealand Leave Accruals and Time Management is that the Time Evaluation (RPTIME00) program replaces the New Zealand payroll driver function NZLVA, and calculates leave accrual and entitlement quotas prior to the payroll run. This means that the Leave Entitlement infotype (0005) has been replaced by the Absence Quota infotype (2006) and the Leave Compensation infotype (0083) has been replaced by the Absence Quota Compensation infotype (0416). The functions for absence payments continue to be New Zealand specific.
In Release 4.6B and 4.6C, the terminations component has been modified to work with Time Management. When an employee is terminated, any outstanding leave entitlement is paid out at the current rate or average rate of the year in which it was earned, whichever is higher. Leave accruals are paid out on the basis of the employee's base entitlement as a percentage of gross earnings accumulated since his or her last anniversary.

The New Zealand Leave Accruals component is no longer supported. Existing customers need to reconfigure their system to use the Time Management solution.
Effects on Customizing
To set up leave and absence processing in Time Management, you need to configure the Managing Time Accounts Using Attendance/Absence Quotas section in Customizing for Personnel Time Management.
To ensure that an employee receives the correct payout of accrued leave when he or she leaves your company, you need to carry out the following step in Customizing for Payroll New Zealand: Terminations -> Define Leave Accrual Pay-out on Termination.
