EA_ICM_ICM_CORE_01: Delete Program for Application Test Data (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 6.0, Enterprise Extension Incentive and Sales Force Management, Enhancement Package 3 (EA-ICM 603) Business Function Incentive and Commission Management (EA_ICM_ICM_CORE_01) a different version of the Delete Program for Application Test Data is available.

The delete program previously used program CACS_ERASE_SAMPLEDATA, which is now replaced by program CACS_ERASE_SAMPLE_DATA.

Note that the delete program for application test data can only be used for existing applications that were changed for Release EA-ICM 603.

You can delete data in the same way with the application test data report. You can select the various data areas that you want to delete, such as transaction data, master data, client-specific configuration data, but also the application data itself.

After the delete program has been executed, all the data is physically deleted from the database. The only exceptions are the condition records, which are flagged for deletion. You should use this program to delete application test data only. It should never be used in a production system.

Once the program has been run for all chosen data areas, nothing from the deleted application should remain on the database. The system checks that all application data has been completely deleted. For instance, master data cannot be deleted before transaction data.

When you used the old delete program, you first had to enter the tables to be deleted and categorize these tables in the database table CACS_MTDTAB before they could be deleted. The new process automatically determines the database tables that are relevant for the application that is to be deleted and categorizes them into master data, transaction data or Customizing data. The process also determines if the tables are customer-specific or cross-customer. Consequently you no longer have to enter the tables that you create in the database table since this is automatically handled by the program when the application is deleted.

The generated objects (tables, structures, programs, and so on) are now also deleted with the corresponding cross-customer data.

Note that it is not possible to determine the number range that belongs to the transaction data and the number range that belongs to the master data. Consequently, you can delete the number ranges only in the area of customer-specific data.

Further Information

You can access the Delete Program for Application Data directly with program CACS_ERASE_SAMPLE_DATA or with transaction CACS_ERASE.
