Ending Commission Contracts Automatically on Effective-To Date (New)

Use

As of SAP ECC 5.00 Incentive and Commission Management (EA-ICM 500) you can specify that commission contracts automatically end on the effective-to date.

Previously you had to manually end contracts that had reached the end of their legal validity period and flag them for archiving with transaction CACS_ARCH_CTRT. You can now use transaction CACS_END_CTRT to request the system to check whether selected commission contracts have reached their effective validity date and can now be archived. You can either run this process as a test run or an update run.

a) Test run:

You can display your selected commission contracts in a list based on the following parameters and check each one individually:

  • List output of all contracts
  • Only contracts that can be ended
  • Only contracts that cannot be ended

b) Update run:

In the update run you can choose from the following settings:

  • Update run without archiving flag
  • Update run with archiving flag
  • Only output contracts that are already ended

The system assigns all commission contracts that have been successfully checked the current date as the end of their effective validity. You can also flag contracts for archiving that have reached the end of their effective validity date.

If you set the Only Ended Contracts indicator, only commission contracts are displayed in the list that have already reached the end of their effective validity.

Since SAP standard archiving runs in a separate process, the database is not unnecessarily overloaded and system performance is improved considerably. We therefore recommend archiving commission contracts when they reach their effective validity date. You can schedule the effective ending of commission contracts and their archiving as a background job.

Effects on Customizing

If you did not previously use the archiving function for commission contracts, you should make the necessary settings in the Implementation Guide (IMG), transaction CACSIMG. Choose the Customizing activity Incentive and Commission Management -> Tools -> Archiving -> End and Archive Commission Contracts Automatically.
